By Bishop C. William Page
By definition, Christianity is Christ-based. Efforts to abrogate this apparent foundation are offensive both as to intent and effect. A "sanitized" Christianity is hardly Christianity at all. Yet, certain contemporary aspirants have sought to free Christianity of the "burdens" of both blood sacrifice and cross. What is Christianity without the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His death on the cross?
Clearly, then, a "santizied" Christianity is an empty shell.
True Believers would do well to stand guard against such heresy and be careful to proclaim the full counsel of God.
Either the blood and cross are essential or Christ died in vain. In other words, if there is any other way to get to Heaven, then it was not necessary for Jesus Christ to bleed and die on the cross. Conversely, if there is no other way to get to Heaven, then the blood and cross are irreplaceable elements of Christianity.

10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel,
that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders,
which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:10-12) The Holy Bible
